Charles Town Ghost Tours offers visitors four guided walking tours ~
- Charles Town History Tour – Day
- Victorian Grave Art Tour – Day
- The Traditional Haunted Walk – Evening
- The Cemetery Stroll – Evening
Our Daytime Tours ~
The Charles Town History Tour covers the diverse background and history of Charles Town, West Virginia, and the county seat of Jefferson County. A walk for history lovers – not a ghost tour.
The Victorian Grave Art Tour is a fascinating look at Victorian grave art. Your guide will enthrall you with touching tales of the meaning behind the intricate symbols and 19th-century mourning practices. Three different types of burial grounds are visited.
Our Evening Tours ~
The Traditional Haunted Walk covers the east side of Charles Town, including a visit to a cemetery, a graveyard, and an unmarked burial ground.
The Cemetery Stroll is simply cemeteries. A chilling walk among our spirits’ final resting places.
- What is the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery?
- What famous people are interred?
- What were the most common causes of death during the Victorian period?
- What do the complex symbols mean in cemetery art?
- Why do the spirits of children still play in the cemetery?
- Why does Mary Turner Allibone still sob late at night?
- What ghost train still runs through Charles Town?
Find the answers to these and more through the Charles Town Ghost Tours. Each tale is a true and documented account taken from historical city records and personal interviews conducted by guide Ann Khiel Fern.
No two tours are ever the same! Thousands of participants have experienced their own chilling and terrifying moments, many caught on film.
